A Wedding in Paradise
Today is my second last day in the country before I fly out for something very exciting! On Tuesday 13th October I get to marry my best friend and partner of 7 years, Dan, in beautiful Fiji. I won't go into all the boring details, but this wedding has been in the works for over a year and I can't believe its finally here! The decision to have a destination wedding reflects the kind of people Dan and I. Pretty laid back and non-traditional. We're still having a proper wedding with a white dress (but no shoes!), a ceremony and an open bar reception (woohoo!), but it'll be a fun and pretty chilled out one with just our closest friends and family. I cannot wait.
There's only bad one thing with having our wedding in Fiji, and that's leaving our beloved pets behind. I've seen so many beautiful photos of brides with their cats when they're getting ready and even of pets being a part of the actual wedding. I'll miss our cats and our dog ridiculously, but I know they're in good hands, and the cats get to stay at home which makes it so much better for them. Dexter, our dog, is spending the time in a luxury boarding facility where he gets to swim and go on walks around the lagoon and play with other dogs (this cost us more than it costs to fly to Fiji and back!! But he's worth it). To make up for it I've had a very special custom cake topper made from here.
So wish me luck, and please excuse me if the blog and Facebook page is a little quieter than normal until the end of the month. I'll be on the look out for some Fijian kitties though and will post photos of any I meet. Have a great October guys! I know I will :)
