Have You Hugged a Vegetarian Today?

I love this little PETA sticker. I've been a vegetarian for about 7 or 8 years now. But by vegetarian I actually mean pescatarian. I still eat fish. And while I may get called a hypocrite for this, I only do it under doctors orders. I love all animals and would love to not eat fish too but after the doctor told me my hair might fall out if I don't get enough protein (amongst other health issues), my mind was made up.

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet" - Albert Einstein. While this is true, this post isn't about preaching, I have no problem with meat eaters - my boyfriend, family and cats are and I still love them to bits! And I would never consider the option of turning my cats vegetarian either. I think that would be an act of animal cruelty in itself - true carnivores should stay true carnivores! It's a little easier for us omnivores...

Animals Australia outlines the facts of vegetarianism perfectly so click here if you'd like to know more and help to reduce the killings of 50 billion land animals every year. It's an even sadder fact that most of those animals live in over crowded factory farms for their entire lives. So while I'm not preaching about vegetarianism, I am begging you to eat free range meat! One look at pigs in a factory farm and I can guarantee you'll never buy factory farmed bacon again - click here if you dare (but a warning, it's heartbreaking).
