For the conservation of Africa's big cats

African Cat Project is an Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of Africa’s three iconic big cats: the lion, leopard, and cheetah. Our mission is to support the long-term survival of these species in their natural habitats. We also work to reduce human–wildlife conflict, helping to ensure the coexistence of people and wildlife. In addition, we focus on protecting and restoring critical habitats, and implementing reintroduction programs for big cats that have been eradicated from parts of their former historic range. We collaborate with local communities through education initiatives and contribute to metapopulation management to strengthen and sustain viable wild populations.

Our work is driven by a commitment to ensuring Africa’s big cats thrive for generations to come.
